Presenting belly dance and its intersections with a variety of styles, from traditional to contemporary, and in partnership with a variety of agencies such as King County 4Culture, Seattle International Dance Festival, Teatro ZinZanni, Seattle Theatre Group, Bellevue Arts Museum, and more, Suzanna's approach is highly collaborative and immersive, with a focus on audience experience and participation. She is passionate about art as a medium to bring together a diverse gathering.
Bellydance Intersections, co-presented with Ava Raqs Bellydance, is a holistic perspective on dance and movement -- a seamless tapestry of belly dance, contemporary, folkloric, ballet, and more, featuring international oriental dance artist Gyöngyi Stúber of Hungary with a rare intersection of talent, including The Allegro Dance Company (Portland, Oregon), Brittany Mattox & Coalescence Dance Company, Akahsia, Suzanna, and Ava. In a world focused on difference and segmentation, Bellydance Intersections highlights crossover, collaboration, and unification. Circles, waves, spirals, vibrations, and punctuated movements transcend multiple styles, yielding fresh new inspirations. |
Belly Dance Off took place 2010-2016 with 23 shows in 8 venues, a multidimensional educational belly dance talent show exploring the secrets of entertaining and polished performance entirely improvised to live music! Guests enjoyed a classy brunch in a world class venue watching dancers compete in their best costumes to live music chosen on the spot! Three live judges present expert feedback. Audience and judges decide the winners. Audience is invited to dance with our sensational band at halftime, with a special prize for the best shimmies!
Written and directed by Suzanna Davis, Cinderella - A Global Story presents world dance theatre through the universal and multicultural story of Cinderella, showcasing over 20 local and international artists in a beautiful outdoor park setting.
